It’s been a busy season by far and one more wedding to go for this season and I’ve super behind with my blogging. So decided I’d finally time to dust off and get back on track. So this marks my first official posting from this season and it’s special indeed :).
Mid this year we’d moved to Chicago temporarily to support Stella’s grad schooling and to also stay closer to family in Canada. Prior to departing I badly wanted to do a Styled Session in Cali, and it’s been on my wishlist for a long time.
My concept was to present a modern look, with a picnic featuring colorful desserts and drinks, and subtly matching flowers. This classically Californian orange grove is situated in Silicon Valley (right next to where we lived, so this could be more personable and memorable), amidst high-tech offices and apartment buildings – a surprising escape! Since orange and green are quite prominent colors in the scene, we decided to incorporate other colors such as yellow, blue and red to provide some contrast.
Eileen Chiu from Enchanting Events, drove this entire initiative and also assembled the team of vendor collaborators in such a short notice. She was also responsible for the model cast. Isabel Fortman from Pretty In Pink Events-Chic Designs provided the florals and vases. The Ombre cake and desserts (macarons, madeleines, tea cakes) as well as the cake stand and serving bowls were provided by Venus Wei of La Vie Douce Design. Elizabeth Chang of Skyla Arts did the hair and makeup for the models. Last but not the least our amazing models Emmalee Froehlich & Garett Knight, they were very duper natural in front of the camera and made my work a piece of cake!
Check out the SLIDESHOW here!
Thanks for all the support guys in bringing my vision to reality. Wouldn’t have been possible to’ve nailed this session without all your help! :)
